Detailed description

This is all white-marble mausoleum in Agra, India, one of the wonders of the world. More information is here:

Originally I planned on making a set of maps of all wonders of the world. But now I don't think I will be able to do that (mainly because I tried to make the Colosseum and failed to finish it). All I know about the Taj Mahal is from the pictures so don't blame me if I was not exact enough. The inside of the mausoleum is all my imagination because I haven't seen any pictures of the interior(I think, it's not allowed to take camera inside). The textures are from http://www.m3corp.com
Please take a look and rate it
All suggestions are welcome!

UPDATE:
- Deleted the "worker's hut"
- Added some more fountains
- Added stairway to the balcony
- Changed the bridge texture
- Added map sounds for fountains and torches

UPDATE 2:
- Added the tomb! (I know there are two tombs in the real Taj but I wanted to keep symmetry :)
- Added the gateway
- Other minor updates

UPDATE 3:
- Changed outside texturing
- Added inlay textures
- Updated lighting

FINAL RELEASE:
- Fixed texture glitch on the stairway (thanks to MX for noticing that)

What a piece of art... Its just... beautiful *jawdrop*

Alltho I would perhaps encourage you to:

1) Change the metal texturing on the little Bridge

2) Perhaps add some wound stairway to the second floor or something, personally I think the teleport takes part of the maps flare :)

3) The little "workers hut" doesn't really fit the whole "indian" flare, and I don't really understand its purpouse, maybe put something else in that space? (just a suggestion)

I will try to improve it.
1. Metal texture. Hmm, I'm not sure what you mean, I like it this way but I'll try differrent texture
2. Stairway: a good idea, I'll do that :)
3. Workers hut: I know it doesnt fit there. I just thought it would be kinda empty so I put it there. I might consider to get rid of it

Wheres the tomb?
Taj Mahal has a white marble tomb in it which should be on a square plinth directly in the middle.
But anyways good map buddy!

Subject already says it, i like this map very much, you did a very good job so far ! ;)

These rounded rooves are looking very good, i also love the fountains in the yard (and hey, the fountains have sounds, how nice). :)

The windows and the entrance with the glass are a very nice idea, too.

The inside of that big building looks great with these textures, usually i would find them a bit repetitive, but in this case it really suits well, while the outside texturing looks a bit bland, maybe there is another texture (or even multiple ones) which fits better ?

Also it might be a good idea to revisit the lighting in the inside, as far as i could see, all lights have the same light colour ;)

All in all i can say, you did an excellent job with the geometry, while some texturing and lighting still could be improved, but it already looks very impressive !!! ;)

4/5 so far, i really hope you'll work a bit on the mentioned lights and textures, so that i can give you the highest rating for this piece of art :)

I know that outside texturing is a bit bland but it's the closest to the original I could find. I might think of replacing it or making multiples ones. About lighting inside: hmmm, I like it this way. You mean make it different color? I'll try that and see what I can do.

In this last update I changed the outside texturing and added new inlay texture taken from real Taj photo! :) Please take a look and if you have any other suggestions tell me so I can end up with it and make Final Release. I put a lot of hard work into it :)

Just a heads up Tyros I'm using your domes and towers from this map in a map I'm making. I can never find you to ask you directly so I'm telling you now. I'll also give you credit in my node and readme. Also, all of the things I copied from this map I edited slightly to better fit the map (Textures, size, etc.) I'm assuming it's public property or w/e you call it so I'm allowed to use it anyway but I feel better asking permission first =D

this is probably because of my computer, but when i lod the map, all the custom textures are messed up! this didnt happen when i had assasin edition though, so does anyone know what the problem is?! this also happens with a few other maps when i load them.

You map is fantastic, but unfortunately there's a fairly major problem. With the new textures in Assassin Edition your custom textures have been knocked along the index. This means that in place of your custom textures are the new ones. This has happened to me and it's incredibly annoying. I wish textures were set by their path instead of an index number.
Luckily it's fairly easy to correct this.
Open data/default_map_settings.cfg and copy all of the textures to be loaded apart from those which were introduced in the new version of Sauerbraten and paste them in your map config file above your custom textures.
Hopefully the textures should be back to normal.

I has trouble explaining this very articulately, so I'm sorry if I didn't make any sense.

I fixed the texture problem myself. Replace this as your config file and your map should be 'future proof'.

Hey guys, thank you all for the comments! I've been gone for a couple of months and now I'm back. I did not keep track of new versions of Sauerbraten so the map might not work in a new version. I don't even have the game installed right now, so as soon as I install it I'll try to fix the map. Gosh, I'm afraid I forgot how to do it now :) , it's been a while since I did this
